Spectrum Super Stars April 2025

Congratulations to our April stars of the month!

We’re so grateful to our administrative support volunteers who come faithfully each week to assist in the Spectrum office with whatever is needed, making a difference! Thank you and congratulations to Caroline Addams, Leigh Tipps, Kelly Ianniello, Vanishree Mahalinga and Kay Lane.

Here is what they each had to say about their experience at Spectrum:

Caroline
“I started volunteering with Spectrum about a month ago. I chose to volunteer because I knew I would learn new skills whenever I arrived at the office. I’ve enjoyed giving back to the community and learning about creativity. Spectrum is a welcoming community for everyone who volunteers. I’m grateful for Claire and Julie whom I’ve gotten to know as I’ve finished my tasks. I feel like I’ve accomplished so much after each visit.”

Kelly
"I love volunteering with Spectrum because it allows me to give back to an organization and community that has been such a wonderful support for my family. My heart feels full and grateful to be a part of such an incredible place. From the minute you walk through the door, you’re greeted with smiling faces and kindness. You’re a part of something so much bigger. Thank you, Spectrum Autism Group for this wonderful opportunity! “

Kay
"If I were to describe volunteering with Spectrum with a word, I would say “enriching”. Because community is important to me, I so appreciate the sense of togetherness Spectrum social clubs/ gatherings fosters. I can say in all honesty everyone I’ve met through this organization has a unique viewpoint that gives more depth to my own perspective. Outside of the amazing people, volunteering with Spectrum entails exciting happenings! From 5Ks, to bowling, to hosting theatrical productions, fun events always abound! This has been the most fulfilling community service program by far.”

Vani
"As a mom to an autistic child, I chose to volunteer at Spectrum because it’s a practical way for me to contribute to a cause that hits so close to home. My journey with my child has shown me how vital behind-the-scenes work is—keeping things organized, managing resources, and ensuring the organization runs smoothly so it can focus on helping families like mine. It’s my way of giving back, staying connected to this community, and making a difference in a way that feels both personal and purposeful. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to volunteer here & want to express my heartfelt thanks to Mrs.Dees & Julie for their unwavering support. I'm so excited to continue contributing my time & energy to this wonderful organization".

Leigh
"I enjoy volunteering at Spectrum Autism because it's a small way I can give back to our community. The wonderful staff at Spectrum Autism made me feel welcome, and wanted, the first day I walked through their doors. It makes my heart happy to know that I am able to help such a wonderful organization."

We thank all of them for making a difference and being such great inspirations to others. Spectrum welcomes volunteers and students who want to add to their résumé and/or earn service hours for classes. Contact Claire Dees at claire@Spectrumautism.org if you are interested in volunteering.
