Spectrum Super Star June 2023

Sam has been involved with Spectrum for about 20 years! He and his family were initially involved with the monthly meetings for information and social skills. As Sam got older, he began attending summer camps, respite at First Baptist Duluth and overnight camps. While in his teens, he began helping at respite by bringing the pizza for lunch with his Dad and cleaning up afterwards. He attends the monthly meetings and participates with the adult group; he helps set up and clean up after the meetings as well. Sam works at Joanie Parker Hair Studio every Saturday cleaning the hair traps in the sinks and other cleaning and helping around the salon. Sam enjoys collecting hubcaps, baseballs and drains. When asked what he would like to do (for employment), Sam has said that he would like to be a teacher because teachers are helpers and he see himself as a helper.
