Spectrum Super Star October 2017
CONGRATS to this month's Spectrum Super Star!
We are happy to recognize Daniel Ahlrich as our October 2017 Spectrum Super Star of the month!
Spectrum’s October Star of the Month is local artist, Daniel Ahlrich. Dan joined Spectrum last September and has enjoyed the outings and making friends with everyone. He has seen first-hand how Spectrum gives back and helps the whole family, and so hopes you enjoy the paintings he has donated to the silent auction for this year’s Georgia’s Race for Autism and Fall Festival. The paintings are a part of his Windows to the Outside series. Painted on recycled house windows, the idea is to take the viewer to a scene outside. His favorite is Veteran Saluting the U.S. Flag.
Dan’s other works can be seen at local festivals, like Lawrenceville’s recent Rock ‘n Ribville, exhibits at Snellville Public Library, as part of the Dizzy Gypsy Art Studio in Lawrenceville, and Johnny’s NY Style Pizza off Sugarloaf, where he has hosted Painting Parties for children with autism. His works range from his Windows to the Outside series featuring popular culture to commissioned photos, to canvas landscapes and his Tablet Head and App-Men series, where the subject is so fixated on their screens that their faces have become the device. Dan received his Associates of Art from Middle Georgia College and his Bachelor of Arts, Concentration in Studio Art, from Georgia College and Statue University. Dan also has the distinction of being in GCPS’ pilot Autism Program at Annistown Elementary in 1996, in his 1st grade year.
You can find Dan on Instagram, Facebook and at daniel.ahlrich@bobcats.gcsu.edu. He would love to hear from you. Check out some of his art pieces below!
Thank you Daniel for your support of Spectrum!
